Translating Heritage

This project was a collaboration with the Bible App focused on highlighting the effort to digitize the Choctaw language.
We set out to create a cinematic mini-documentary that honored cultural heritage while clearly communicating the significance of the initiative. The story was framed through the leadership of a descendant of Choctaw heritage, centering the work on people rather than process
Using an intimate interview, observational cinematography, and a restrained visual language, the film conveyed the weight and purpose of language preservation without excess. From focused pre-production through post-production, every decision prioritized clarity, respect, and accessibility.
The final three-minute film was completed in three weeks and became a key internal storytelling piece for the Bible App—helping teams understand, support, and advocate for the initiative with trust and care.
